Beschreibung:
This design of a banquet at a house of assignation is the highlight of the twelve-print set. The scene is shown with two of its enclosing wall removed, in accordance with a convention inaugurated by the artists of the Yamato-Tosa School. A woman entertains guests (including a monk) by dancing in front of a two-panel folding screen decorated with an inscription and the character doku (one person). She is accompanied by a male musician with a tsuzumi (shoulder drum) and samisen players, one male and one female. In the foreground, to the left, a maid arrives with yet another guest; on the right, two attendants walk off to replenish the sake.
