SUBJECT: A bijin with an umbrella by cherry blossoms. A rarely seen Shin Hanga series. Chiyuki Onuma designed this series of woodblocks depicting beautiful women with one image for each month. This series was produced under the direct supervision of Paul Jacoulet's printer and carver Maeda. Chiyuki's Japanese signature in image at mid left, and date and title in left margin at top.
