Sunday, 21 June 2009 "Evening at Namamugi"- 1931 Full Oban Image size 14.75" x 9 3/8" Condition Pristine. Never laid down. Strong bleedthrough to verso. No folds, no tears, no creases, no foxing, but noticeable toning of the lower 1/3 left margin, as seen in scan. A beautifully vibrant, dated edition with even age toning throughout, except for darkened left margin edge. Otherwise, a perfect example of rich color, texture, and expertise in bokashi and overall technique, with some metallic pigmentation, and fine detailing in buildings, rocks, and water reflection. This original First Edition print, signed Koitsu above the artist's diamond-shaped seal, includes date and title in lower left margin, and Watanabe’s B seal in the right margin.
