Woodblock print, oban tate-e. Bamba Station. The Otsu-e painter Domori (stammerer) Matabei on lookout duty (his wife behind him) outside the house of his master, Tosa Shogen, who is listening to a story from the samurai Utanosuke in the background (Inset: wide road among hills, with conifers).
