From the series, "Shin Nigao" (New Portraits). "Shin Nigao" was a short-lived magazine series started in 1915 for 5 issues. Several artists contributed to one or two prints for the series which showcased more individual approaches to the traditional actor's portraits. This print depicts actor Sawamura Sonosuke is in the role of Mizuno in the play, "Banzui Chobei".
